The Memory of Nations Theatre has prepared the sixth edition of its regular theatre series “We Are Memory.” The aim is to present original performances from a young generation of artists, thematically based on the real stories of eyewitnesses recorded by Post Bellum documentarians and to connect art students with already integrated professional artists. The new edition of We Are Memory has begun! On November 21, students of he Department of Art Education of PedF UK met with Holocaust survivors in the Unijazz Reading RoomThis event is the first step towards the creation of a production that the National Remembrance Theater in cooperation with the Dutch Theatre Na de Dam regularly presents on January 27th on Holocaust Remembrance Day. This year we will present the production in the National Gallery in the Trade Fair Palace. Right across from the Trade Fair Palace was the so-called “gathering place” for victims before the subsequent transportation to Terezín under the protectorate. The theatre studio Memory of Nations, operating under the Moravian-Silesian National Theatre, has chosen the theme of the fate of female political prisoners in the 1950s for this season. “We draw mainly on the memories of Alexandra Součková Kovářová, which were recorded by Zuzana Augustová (a book called Člověče, ty nic nevíš will soon be published by the Academia publishing house) and from Dagmar Šimková's book We Were There Too.

What is it like when participants across generations meet in a creative environment? You will find out in the newly opened intergenerational workshop of the Memory of Nations high school. It is an inspiring experience for both generations, as evidenced by feedback from the pilot workshop: “You were all pleasant and I have a nice feeling that we could talk about anything.
